WoW Inscription Guide

The inscription profession in WoW is currently the newest and with it you will be able to make different class glyphs which can be very useful for yourself or you can sell them to make some profit. Inscription sort of goes along with Herbalism so if you don’t have a lot of gold to spend on professions right now you may want to pick up Herbalism so you can farm the materials yourself and the areas where you can farm these herbs will be listed in this guide as well. Now, lets get started.

1-17

Ivory Ink x 18: You will need to get 18 Alabaster Pigment from either the AH or from milling level 1-10 herbs such as Silverleaf, Bloodthistle, Peacebloom, and Earthroot. I suggest farming Silverleaf if you must, for Horde you can go to Durotar, Trisifal Glades, The Barrens, Mulgore, and many other places. For Alliance you can go to Dun Morogh, Elwynn Forest, or Azuremyst Isle. The amount of Alabaster Pigment can be milled from about 2-3 stacks of Silverleaf.

Moonglow Ink x 21: You will need to get 42 Alabaster Pigment from either the AH or from miling level 1-10 herbs (see 1-17 for more information) The amount of Alabaster Pigment can be milled from about 4-5 stacks of Silverleaf.

Armor Vellum x 21: Use the 21 Moonglow Ink you just made as well as 42 Light Parchment which can be purchased from a vendor to make 21 of these. If you are just getting into the guide then look above at 35-54 to see how to make 21 of your own Moonglow Ink or purchase them from the AH.

Learn Journeyman Inscription

75-80

Midnight Ink x 20: Acquire 40 Dusky Pigment either from the AH or from milling Bruiseweed which can be gathered with Herbalism in places like The Barrens, Ashenvale, Hillsbrad Foothills, or Wetlands.

80-100

For these levels you can make any Glyph you want that is orange to you and that requires 1 Midnight Ink and 1 Light Parchment. After 10 glyphs learn the new glyphs and make 10 more as the old ones will turn yellow to you. Use the 20 Midnight Ink you just made or look above if you are just getting into the guide to see how to make them as well as purchase 20 Light Parchment from a vendor and create 20 glyphs.

100-105

Lion’s Ink x 60: Acquire 120 Golden Pigment either from the AH or from milling Liferoot which can be gathered with herbalism in places like Stranglethorn Vale, Dustwallow Marsh, and Wetlands.

105-120

Just like 80-100 you will be making any glyph that is orange to you and requires 1 Lion’s Ink and 1 Common Parchment and after you make 10 learn the new glyphs and make 10 more ones that are orange to you. Use the 20 Lion’s Ink you just made or look above if you are just getting into the guide to see how to make them as well as purchase 20 Common Parchment from a vendor and create 20 Glyphs.

120-125

For these levels you can make any Glyph that is yellow to you that requires 1 Lion’s Ink and 1 Common Parchment. You will need 7 Lion’s Ink which can be purchased on the AH or milled from Liferoot (see 100-105 for farming locations) as well as 7 Common Parchment from a vendor and create 7 Glyphs.

Convert all of your Burnt Pigment’s into Dawnstar Ink. If you are just getting into the guide make any glyph that is orange to you from 125-140, see above for directions on getting materials for creating glyphs.

Strange Tarrot x 8: Acquire 16 Lion’s Ink either from the AH or from milling herbs (see 100-105 for more info) and use your 8 Dawnstar Ink as well as purchase 8 Common Parchement from a vendor and create 8 of these.

141-150

Glyph of Lighting Bolt x 13: Acquire 26 Lion’s Ink either from the AH or from milling herbs (see 100-105 for more info) and purchase 26 Common Parchment from a vendor and create 13 of these.

Jadefire Ink x 60: Acquire 120 Emerald Pigment either from the AH or from milling Khadgar’s Whisker which can be gathered with herbalism in places like Stranglethorn Vale, Feralas, or Arathi Highlands.

Purchase 20 Common Parchment as well as 20 Jadefire Ink or create your own if you haven’t already (see 150-155) and create 20 glyphs that are orange to you and require 1 Jadefire Ink and 1 Common Parchment.

Convert all your Indigo Pigment into Royal Ink and make as many Arcane Tarrot as possible.

Ethereal Ink x 55: Acquire 110 Nether Pigment either from the AH or milling Golden Sansam which can be gathered with herbalism in either Hellfire Peninsula or Zangarmarsh.

Create 20 Glyphs that are orange to you, when they turn yellow learn the new ones that become available and make more that are orange to you. Also purchase 20 Heavy Parchment from a vendor, you will need these to create the glyphs as well as 20 Ethereal Ink that you have just created (if you are just getting into the guide see 290-305)

If you have been milling your own herbs convert your Ebon Pigment into Darkflame Ink, if not create yellow glyphs for these levels (see 305-325 for more information)
