WoW Herbalism Leveling Guide 1-450
Herbalism is another gathering profession in WoW, where it’s very cheap to start up and it’s highly profitable (if you don’t consider the time spent gathering the herbs).
Herbalism has become more profitable since it funds two professions now, Alchemy and Inscription. If you are looking for an additional profession that goes well with these, those two are great ones to go along with it.
Additionally, you can grab a second gathering profession, skinning or mining, if you enjoy collecting materials then this is a great way to make a lot of gold, or assist your guild.
Below is a speed leveling guide from 1-450 for herbalism.
Before you go through the guide, make sure you install two great add-ons that will make all of your gathering much easier. It’s the Gatherer Add-on, along with the Gatherer Database. If you have these installed, you will be able to find all the spawn points for your nodes, that way you can travel in the best routes to collect them the quickest. (you can read more about this here and get the addon)
Through out this article you will see the herbs to farm, followed by a number in parenthesis. The number in parenthesis is referring to the herbalism level required to gather that herb.
The first thing you need to do is get your initial Apprentice Herbalism Gathering. You can get this at any main city in the game. Excluding Shattrath and Dalaran.
1-100
Collect: Silverleaf (1), Peacebloom (1), and Earthroot (15) until level 50.
Zones: Elwynn Forest, Tirisfal Glades, Dun Morogh, The Barrens (northern), Azuremyst Isle, Durotar, Teldrassil. (basically any starting zone is plentiful of these nodes).
If you switch zones, stop by a trainer and train your Journeyman Herbalism Skill (click for a list of trainers to find the closest one!).
Collect: Earthroot (15), Mageroyal (50), Briarthorn (70), Stranglekelp (85) until level 100.
Zones: The Barrens, Westfall, Redridge Mountains, Silverpine Forest, Wetlands
100-150
Collect: Briarthorn (70), Bruiseweed (100), Wild Steelbloom (115), Kingsblood (125) until level 150
Zones: The Barrens, Wetlands, Arathi Highlands, Hillsbrad Foothills, Stonetalon Mountains.
150-210
Go Train Your Expert Herbalism Skill.
Collect: Kingsblood (125), Liferoot (150), Fadeleaf (160), Goldthorn (170), Khadgar’s Whisker (185),
Zones: Wetlands, Arathi Highlands, Hillsbrad Foothill, Stranglethorn Vale.
210-235
Go Train Your Artisan Herbalism Skill.
Collect: Sungrass (230), Purple Lotus (210)
Zones: The Hinterlands. I usually switch between hinterlands and Arathi Highlands for this part of the cycle.
235-300
This is the last leg of the Artisan Content. You are going to level all of the remainder at Swamp of Sorrows. The main herb you will be collecting is Blindweed. It will last you all the way until 300. (Even though it turns green). There are so many spawns of Blindweed that this last leg will not take too much time at all. Continue to collect all the herbs in Swamp of Sorrows until you hit 300
Collect: Blindweed (235)
Zones: Swamp of Sorrows.
300-325
Head over to the Outlands so you can go train your Master Herbalism Skill.
Collect: Felweed (300), Dreaming Glory (315)
Zones: Hellfire Penninsula. This is the only zone I use for the first part of this. Very plentiful and you will get through this part quickly.
325-350
You will want to collect Every herb in the following two zones: Zangarmarsh and Terrokar Forest. If you have your flying mount around, you can make loops through both of these zones without breaking your cycle.
Collect: Felweed (300), Dreaming Glory (315) Ragveil (325), Terocone (325), Flame Cap (335)
Zones: Zangarmarsh, Terrokar Forest.
350-400
Now you can proceed to Northrend and you can go train your Grand Master Herbalism Skill.
Collect: Goldclover (350)
Zones: Howling Fjord.
400-425
Out of these two spots, I prefer to go to Sholozar basin. It’s easier to navigate and it also has other herbs (Tiger Lilly, and Gold Clover) which will assist in leveling quicker.
Collect: Frozen Herb (400), Adder’s Tongue (400),
Zones: Sholazar Basin, Dragonblight.
425-450
ALMOST THERE! The last part of it is pretty simple. All you have to do is farm Lichbloom from The Storm Peaks. The hire you go up with herbs, it becomes a little more difficult to grab spawns. But it’s still very simple to level here. This will also give you a nice boosting in gold. So take the time and farm Lichbloom.
Collect: Lichbloom (425)
Zones: The Storm Peaks.
