WoW Engineering Guide
Engineering is one of possible primary professions for your character. It can be extremely expensive to level, and can be a real grind. But! It has some of the best items in the game in terms of pure gamer fun.
Tips:
* You can initially learn Engineering from a trainer in any large city, just as a guard for the location.
* Use mining as your other primary profession. That way you can grind instead of purchase a good portion of your mats.
* Some of the components build on each other, so don’t sell ‘em yet! We have tried to include a note below if an item will be used at a later time in leveling.
* Buy a Gnomish Army Knife on the AH at the beginning… Yes, Engineers learn how to make them later down the road, however it serves several purposes, and you don’t have to worry about not having the proper tool later on. Efficiency is a good thing.
* If you don’t want to farm the mats yourself, but you are a Miner – compare the prices of Ore vs. Bars. Depending on your realm one form might be cheaper than the other and as a farmer you can smelt it down yourself.
* Unless otherwise specified, the information below comes from the trainers and vendors. Don’t spend your money on World Drops until later, and you just want the item.

Now, things get interesting. You get to pick whether to specialize in Gnomish or Goblin Engineering! So, which do you pick? Basically, the difference is their teleporters’ location, and what the trinkets actually do. Most of the trinkets can be worn by either kind of engineer. Take a look at the recipes and decide which would be better for your character.
