WoW Blacksmithing Guide

Blacksmithing is a great profession for anyone who enjoys creating their own gear and weapons. If you don’t have a lot of gold you will want to pick up Mining and gather your own materials for this but alternatively you can just purchase your materials on the auction house. As with other professions you aren’t going to get a lot out of them until you reach the higher levels (400+) but you will have to stick with it if you want to see the results.

Rough Sharpening Stone x 33: Acquire 33 Rough Stones either from the AH or from mining Copper Veins in The Barrens, Dun Morogh, Durotar, Elwynn Forest, or Eversong Woods but it has about a 50% drop chance.

30-65

Rough Grinding Stone x 50: Acquire 100 Rough Stones from either the AH or from mining Copper Veins in The Barrens, Dun Morogh, Durotar, Elwynn Forest, or Eversong Woods but it has about a 50% drop chance.

65-75

Copper Chain Belt x 10: Acquire 60 Copper Bars either from the Auction House or by minning Copper Ore from many places including The Barrens, Dun Morogh, Durotar, Elwynn Forest, or Eversong Woods. After mining the Ore then smelt it into Copper Bars.

Coarse Grinding Stone x 12: Acquire 24 Coarse Stones from either the AH or mining Tin Veins in The Barrens, Hillsbrad Foothills, or Redridge Mountains but it does have about a 50% drop chance.

87-100

Runed Copper Belt x 13: Acquire 130 Copper Bars either from the Auction House or by minning Copper Ore from many places including The Barrens, Dun Morogh, Durotar, Elwynn Forest, or Eversong Woods. After mining the Ore then smelt it into Copper Bars.

100-105

Silver Rod x 5: Acquire 5 Silver Bars and 10 Rough Grinding Stones on the Auction House and create 5 of these. Silver Rods do sell on the Auction House as Enchanters will need them.

105-125

Rough Bronze Leggings x 20: Acquire 120 Bronze Bar. You can either get these from the Auction House or go through a lot of mining and smelting, first of all you will need to mine 60 Copper Ore and smelt 60 Copper Bars (for mining locations on Copper refer to 1-30) and then mine 60 Tin Ore in places like The Barrens, Hillsbrad Foothills, or Redridge Mountains and then smelt these into 60 Tin Bars and use the 60 Copper/Tin Bars to create 120 Bronze bars.

Heavy Grinding Stone x 50: Acquire 150 Heavy Stone either from the Auction House or from mining Iron Deposits in Arathi Highlands, Stranglethorn Vale, or Thousand Needles. You can also try farming these off of Elemental Slaves in Alterac Mountains or Searing Infernals in Ashenvale. Either method has about a 40% chance of receiving a Heavy Stone drop.

150-155

Golden Rod x 5: Use 10 of the Coarse Grinding Stones you made before and Acquire 5 Gold Bars and create 5 of these and sell them on the Auction House as enchanters need to use them.

155-165

Green Iron Leggings x 10: Use 10 of the Heavy Grinding Stones that you made and purchase 80 Iron Bars from the Auction House or mine Iron Ore in places like Arathi Highlands, Stranglethron Vale, or Thousand Needles. Purchase 10 Green Dye and create 10 of these.

165-190

Green Iron Bracers x 25: Acquire 150 Iron Bars from the Auction House or mine Iron Ore in places like Arathi Highlands, Stranglethron Vale, or Thousand Needles. Purchase 25 Green Dye and create 25 of these.

190-200

Golden Scale Bracers x 10: Use 20 of the Heavy Grinding Stones that you made and acquire 50 Steel Bars and create 10 of these.

Truesilver Rod x 5: Use 5 of the Heavy Grinding Stones that you made and acquire 5 Truesilver Bars either from the Auction House or from mining Truesilver Deposits for Truesilver Ore in The Hinterlands, Tanaris, or Winterspring. Then smelt these ores into bars and create 5 of these and sell them on the Auction House as Enchanters will need them.

Solid Grinding Stone x 15: Acquire 60 Solid Stones from either the Auction House or mining Mithiril Veins and create 15 of these.

Heavy Mithril Gauntlent x 15: Acquire 90 Mithril Bars either from the Auction House or from Mining Mithril Ore from Mithril Deposits in The Hinterlands, Tanaris, Badlands, or Searing Gorge and then smelt these into Mithril Bars. Also purchase 60 Mageweave Cloth from the Auction House and create 15 of these.
