WoW Alchemy Guide

Alchemy is a decent form of making money in WoW. It goes hand in hand with the Herbalism profession, which you will be required to have if you plan on farming the required materials for the items you will make with alchemy. Alternatively, you can always just buy your materials on the auction house (providing people are selling them) but in the guide I will show you where you can farm these materials as well. With that out of the way, let’s get started with the alchemy guide.

Alchemy is going to be pretty straight-forward up until around level 200 as far as what materials are going to be needed to level up and there won’t be too many different potions/elixirs you will be required to make.

Minor Healing Potion x 59: Acquire 59 Peacebloom either from the AH or from gathering with herbalism from numerous locations, for Horde you can go to Durotar, Trisifal Glades, The Barrens, Mulgore, and many other places. For Alliance you can go to Dun Morogh, Elwynn Forest, or Azuremyst Isle. Pretty much any low level area. Acquire 59 Silverleaf either from the AH or from gathering with herbalism from numerous locations (same as mentioned above) and purchase 59 Empty Vials from a vendor and create 59 of these. Make sure you dont trash these because you will use them in the next step.

Learn Journeyman Alchemy

60-110

Lesser Healing Potion x 50: Use your 50 Minor Healing Potions from before (or buy/make new ones if you are just now using the guide or trashed the ones you made) and acquire 50 Briarthorn either from the AH or gathering with herbalism in places like The Barrens, Silverpine Forest, Wetlands, Hillsbrad Foothills, Duskwood, and Westfall.

110-140

Healing Potion x 30: Acquire 30 Bruiseweed either from AH or gathering with herbalism in places like The Barrens, Ashenvale, Hillsbrad Foothills, or Wetlands. Acquire 30 Briarthorn either from the AH or gathering with herbalism (see 60-110 for gathering locations) and purchase 30 Leaded Vial from a vendor.

Lesser Mana Potion x 15: Acquire 15 Mageroyal either from the AH or gathering with herbalism in places like The Barrens, Silverpine Forest, Westfall, Darkshore, and Wetlands. Acquire 15 Stranglekelp either from the AH or gathering with herbalism, this herb is in a major abundance in Stranglethorn Vale around the shores and somewhat scarce in other areas. Purchase 15 Empty vial from a vendor and create 15 of these.

Greater Healing Potion x 30: Acquire 30 Liferoot either from the AH or gathering with herbalism in places like Stranglethorn Vale, Dustwallow Marsh, and Wetlands. Acquire 30 Kingsblood either from the AH or gathering with herbalism in places like Stranglethorn Vale, Wetlands, and Stonetalon Mountains. Purchase 30 Leaded Vials from a vendor and create 30 of these.

At 400 make a Northrend Alchemy Research and Alchemy trinket.

Runic Healing Potion x 5: Acquire 5 Goldclover from the AH or gathering with herbalism (see 365-380 for farming locations) Acquire 10 Icethorn either from the AH or gathering with herbalism in The Storm Peaks or Icecrown. Purchase 5 Imbued Vials from a vendor and create 5 of these.

This will turn green when you reach 422 Alchemy so it is possible that you will be required to make more than 20.

Runic Mana Potion x 20: Acquire 20 Goldclover from the AH or gathering with herbalism (see 365-380 for farming locations) Acquire 40 Lichbloom either from the AH or gathering with herbalism in The Storm Peaks or Icecrown. Purchase 15 Imbued Vial from a vendor and create 15 of these.

Transmute: Earthsiege Diamond x 10: Acquire 10 Dark Jade, 10 Huge Citrine, and 10 Eternal Fire all from the AH.

Now you are the point where there is no reason to level just for the sake of leveling since you can do anything that alchemy offers so have fun creating those flasks and selling them.
