Rediscover Azeroth – The Graves

The following article has been generously translated from Troll-sp…err…Trollmaica…err…from Sarracenia-talk to Common by Zyrena.

Hello There. Sarra here and I’m wanting to tell you all about what I’ve been seeing today.

I was out exploring and picking flowers in Hillsbrad, and I wander all over the place when I do that. Well…I followed the river to the shore and followed the cliffs up along and towards Thoradin’s Wall. Up there is a dwarf place called Wow gravesDun Garok. Don’t be getting too close to the fort unless you are of the Alliance persuasion because they’re not nice to Hordies…dwarfs and their tempers you know.

Anyway..to the south west of there, on a cliff overlooking the sea, is a real nice memorial. There is a dwarf there named Rouch looking after the place and praying for the soul there, but he seems to be a decent sort of fellow and he will leave you be. I guess he knew Anthony pretty personaly. Please be respectful when you go there because not all alliance people are the enemy and they all deserve the right to morn their losses. The inscription on the stone reads: “~~In Loving Memory~~ Anthony Ray Stark, 1961-2005”. It is a nice peaceful place to stop for a minute and reflect. I left a flower or two.

After I left here, I got to thinking that there may be other graves of interest…and some gravemoss in the deal too. So I travelled to Raven Hill to see what I could see. There is a hermit in his shack at the back corner of the Wow graves 2cemetery in Raven Hill. Zy says he is called Abercrombie. He has a grave behind his shack there where they say he has his wife, Eliza. I went and took a look, but all I saw was a fresh mound and a headstone. But when I decided to go back later and take a picture, I saw a night elf poke the dirt and ghouls came out. Mad ghoulies! Not the friendly ones like my buddy. I was so shocked I missed getting a picture of the fight, but I did remember to take a picture of the grave and the hermit’s cabin for you all.

Just across the bottom of the Raven Hill cemetery, where you get to Forlorne Row, there is a house. Behind that house is a grave marked with only a wooden marker. I thought it was strange that this grave and Eliza’s grave were outside the cemetery. But there must be a reason fer that. Maybe I’ll ask Zy sometime. I took a picture of the grave behind the house and I showed it to Zy. She said it belongs to Morgan Ladimore but that he now is Mor’Ladim and he is a tortured soul that wanders around Forlorne Row and bothers people. Apparently he’s a tough fight for some, too. But there are those that want help putting Mor’Ladim to rest. I think Zy mentioned Althea Ebonlocke, a Commander in Darkshire, but I may have that wrong.

The last one I’ll be telling you all about today is the Shrine of the Fallen Warrior. I came across this shrine when I was kicking around out near the Crossroads in Wow gravesKalimdor. I went out the west gate and was poking around the hills there when I noticed this mound that was not quite like the rest. To get to the top, I had to circle and find a ridge that took me up to the neighboring hill. Then I followed another ridge across to the mound and ran up to the top. I figured that if the Striders can get there, so can I. At the top was one of the most moving things I’ve ever seen. This spirit healer was there by name of Koiter.

Behind him is the shrine. I’m not sure I can adequately describe the shrine other than to say it is…impressive. A fallen orc warrior lay there on the altar under the Symbol of the Horde, holding a sword to his breast and seeming peacefuly at rest. There are piles of stuff that other people have left there as tokens of love and as gifts for the spirit of the warrior to help him along where he is going next. I took a picture of Koiter and of the shrine for those of you that may not have the chance to get there. I hope you’ll try to check it out though..

There are a couple of special cases that I’m wanting to tell you all about that Zy and I found out in Westfall. But for today, I think I am all written out. Zy is complaining about my grammar and stuff. So for the next time, we will tell you about what we found out there near Moonbrook and some odd happenings connected to that.

Keep explorin’ an hab fun!
Sarra
