Rediscover Azeroth – Intro

The Death Knights have broken free from Arthas’ grasp. Now what?

After the “enlightening” scene at Light’s Hope Chapel and the subsequent meetings with Highlord Darion Morgraine, both Sarra and Zy have come to a baffling discovery: The flight masters all across the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor are willing to let them fly just about anywhere, but the ladies have no recollection of ever having been to those areas before.

Having become accustomed to working together on the same side, Zyrena and Sarracenia have decided to maintain their working relationship to share their journey to rediscover Azeroth.

This series of articles will record their travels and the discoveries they make along the way. Included will be instance tours, interviews with people they meet along the way, descriptions of zones and areas of special interest.

Zyrena: Draenei Death Knight

“Zy” has the classic draenei build and long white hair. Under the helm is an eyepatch and a wry glint in the uncovered eye. Her humor can be subtle and cutting but generally it is reserved for those who deserve the sharp end of a stick. She is looking forward to her rediscovery of Azeroth with both excitement and trepidation, not knowing when she is going to meet someone who may remember her from the past.

Sarracenia: Troll Death Knight

“Sarra” is a troll female of distinction. Having kept in touch with some of her former comrades, she often travels with them and lends her powers to their aid as they attempt to redeem themselves with the residents of Azeroth. Being inordinately proud of her orange braids and crest and her delicate tusks, she often goes helm-less to be easily distinguished from all the other Death Knights currently trying to rediscover themselves and their past.

Now, the ladies would like a brief word to let you know their plans!

Zy: Hello. I’m Zyrena. I’m looking forward to writing for you all…and cleaning up Sarra’s writing so you can read it. I’ve been noticing that ever since my arrival from the Eastern Plaguelands I’ve been coming across presumptuous flight masters who greet me by name. Thing is, I can’t for the life of me remember being in these places. Sarra has noticed the same phenomenon and we have come to the conclusion that we both must have traveled extensively before…well before.

Sarra (translated by Zy): ~Snorts~ She is a bit…generous…in her assessment of the situation. I’m Sarracenia and I’m happy to be talking to you all. There was a right dark time recently and now I’m hoping to do some exploring and put that all in the background. Now I have no recall at all of these places it seems we’ve been. So, we decided to do some wandering to see what we can see. My guess being that when that Arthas took over where the natural spirits left off, we lost all the pasts that we had and they were replaced with…well with nothing. See that makes it much easier to get us to do what he was needing us to do.

Zy: Yes…well…Now we are back in control of our own destinies and we have decided to start again with re-learning who we are. Or, in the case of some ~cuts Sarracenia a glance~ checking out the world through new eyes and talking incessently about everything they see.

Sarra (translated by Zy): Aww now, Zy. Don’t go getting all huffy-like over the whole thing. Think of all the new opportunities we’ll be facing! Seeing places for the first time again! I bet we’ll be noticing things this time that we never took the time to see proper-like before. After all, I don’t know about you, but I got a whole appreciation going on that I just bet I didn’t have before.

Zy: So we will be mostly traveling apart, but we will get together to compare notes and create journal entries (and try to correct some of Sarra’s “english”) to share with all of you the things we discover across Azeroth as we go. It is our hope that you too will be able to “rediscover Azeroth” through our reports.
